I have a heart for propelling students into their potential. From newcomers to English natives, I believe all students have the capacity to achieve “Level 4 Mastery” – understanding concepts so well, they can teach it to others.
How do I level up their learning?
By empowering them to figure out the best solution, not just seek the right answer.

My Teaching Credentials
I'm an Illinois State Board of Education-certified educator with 10 years serving as an English teacher and mentor in Chicago Public Schools and suburbs.
After earning my Bachelor's in English and Spanish from the College of Charleston, and a Master's in Secondary Education from the American College of Education, I also received certifications in bilingual education, English as a second language, and middle grades education.
Additionally, I was invited to be a member of the instructional leadership team at Brighton Park of CPS, where I supported fellow teachers in their professional development.

Here's a bit of my story:
My international background:
Having learned Spanish as a second language while teaching in Madrid for two years, and having worked in Jerusalem at a summer camp, I understand the struggle of adjusting to a new culture.
My newcomer and ESL teaching expertise:
At District 62’s highly respected Multilingual English Learners program, I taught in the newcomer's classroom and collaborated with English, Social Studies, Science, Math, and Art teachers to help their ESL students succeed.
